I'm so sorry that I'd not known that John had passed, and several years ago. I really feel for you - in my short visit I very much enjoyed hearing about your whole family! John and I became best friends in 1962, in the 4th grade at Woods School, Carmel, California. John taught me to play tennis, and I probably taught him to swear. In my junior year in college John came to visit and attended some of my classes, including microbiology. The professor asked a question that stumped everyone, except for John, who raised his hand and gave an excellent answer. At that moment I knew that although I was an honors biology major, John was a real scientist.
