Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the family. My sister, Susan Hillis Rambo, passed away with pancreatic cancer this week here in Brentwood. We grew up next door to Hartford Hooper's wife Anne and had been aware of John's illness. I think John was in my dad's Boy Scout troop in McMinnville - Wayman Hillis was my dad's name.

Sincerely,

Ellen Hillis Finney

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Mary Lawrence, Miriam and Anne, family members, friends and colleagues at the passing of Dr. John B. Breinig. I feel fortunate to have known Dr. Breinig and will always remember him as a special mentor from our days at St. Thomas Cardiographics and Cardiology Consultants/Page-Campbell Cardiology Group from 1976 until his retirement.
Dr. Breinig touched and influenced so many during his lifetime. May the love of family and friends comfort and strengthen...

I will truly miss my good friend JB. I admired him for his intelligence, sense of humor, and humility. We always enjoyed interesting conversations and good times.
My deepest sympathy to Mary Lawrence, Anne, and Miriam.

Hartford Hooper called me yesterday to send sympathy for the loss of my mom, Elizabeth Duncan, who died on Friday...he told me of John's passing. My sibs and I spent many years at both school and church with John and Betsy...we send our heartfelt thoughts of concern to you at this time.

Betsy (webb), Don, and Anne (Karshis) Duncan

I will miss my dearest brother in the whole wide world.
Love, Betsy Breinig Tunstall

To the dear family of my friend "J.B.", it was my privilege to have known him and worked alongside him for so many years at St. Thomas. I esteemed him highly. I'm glad I could be with you on Monday. You are in my prayers. (the next cat will be named J.B.---you know what I mean!)

We have lost a great Southern Gentleman. John saw wonder in the smallest detail and possessed a true love for life. The Turkey Cousins will miss him so. He captured so many memories with the click of his finger. No one will ever fill his place. He'll be waiting for us at the greatest reunion, we'll see you then John! With Love and Sympathy to Mary Lawrence, Miriam, Annie and families. Your Turkey Cousin, Norma

I knew Dr. Brening at St. Thomas years ago, when I worked for the Cardiac Surgeons. He was a fine physician and an interesting gentleman.

I was saddened to hear of John's passing. We had many good times at the Phi Psi House during our time at Vanderbilt. My condolences to the family.
