Not sure what to say?

I think of swim meets on Summer Saturdays often and your father was always on deck. It is on this side of 50 that I recognize what a sacrifice it was for all our parents to give up their Saturdays to support us. Thank you Mr. Broda. You live on in the lives of your children, your grandchildren and all the Parkland swimmers of your children's youth.

They must be having a Parkland Swim meet up in heaven. Between Referee, Starter, Head timer clerk of course, ribbon writers and timers they have it covered with both the Broda's, Greenleaf's, Fangmeyer's,Dossey, McShane, McNally, Friedman, and probably some I am missing. My Dad passed on May 10 at age 100.

Dear Jimmy, Patty, Ellen, and John,

To John, Jimmy, Patty and Ellen (and all the grandkids and family), I just learned of the loss of your father and am sorry to have missed the service, so please accept our condolences.

Parkland Pool and swim team was such a huge part of and influence on my (our) childhood and your Dad was square in the middle of all that. His smiling face is etched in my memory forever, standing as Head Timer at the finish line always ready for a pat on the back and "nice job" if you did well, or...

Dear Kelli, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Nora Rivera, Gaithersburg, MD

It takes a village and Mr. Broda was one of my village elders. He was the Head Judge at Parkland, usher at St. Andrews, father of my water buddies, friend to my father, and husband of my mother's best friend. Thank you Mr. Broda. Well done. Go in peace now. And to John, Patty, Ellen and Jimmy - thank you for sharing your father and may you find comfort in knowing that he lives on in you and your children and you will see him again.

I have know Ellen Carroll for a long time and her father meant so much to her. With love to the family. God Bless!
