Not sure what to say?

I knew John through research into his wartime story, which was most impressive. I met him twice in person and had numerous conversations by phone. A fine man and his sort will not be seen again. Very impressive and at the same time very human.

We came to know John when I was researching the story of his bomber crew in about 2002. It was immediately obvious that we were meeting a real gentleman, and they are hard to find. He was a great example of a generation which is almost gone, and I consider it my good fortune to have known him. RIP George Kelling

It was my good luck to get to know this true, but understated, hero and remember him not only as a great guy but as an part of a better world which has passed us by.

I knew John for several years working on the story of his Liberator crew in 1944. He was a fine fellow, and it was a privilege to know him. My wife Betty and I were able to visit him in Fort Worth twice, the last time with the two Belgians. The family have all our sympathy. George Kelling

I am one of the Belgians who met John at his house in Fort Worth to hear his story of his time in Europe during WWII.
I had a special feeling being there because he spent about 2 months in my hometown in 1944 trying to get away from the germans.
We talked for about 2hours and when I left he gave me a picture of one of his paintings... he wrote on the back "for the family of my Belgian friends J Bryant 2006"
This card means something special to me and the families where John was...

I met John when I did my research about his life during WWII. He left a big impression on me. I am sure he will be remembered in Belgium as a great man.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To know Jack was to love him. His generosity, conversation, and creativity are some of the things I will always remember and miss about Jack. I wish we could have visited once more.

Jack was a good friend and neighbor during my nine years in Ft. Worth , I will miss his "tall tails" and helpful hand. Mark Catesby Jones , Rumson , N.J.

Jack was a great friend and good neighbor. He will be missed. Memories of arrow head hunting, shooting, painting, interest in good health and conversation will be with me forever. Oleda (Tiger)
