John P. Buckley age 56 of Brick Township died Sunday July 12th. 2015 in Ocean Medical Center Brick after a long illness. John was born in Elizabeth, N.J. and raised in Linden before moving to the Shore 15 years ago. He worked as a plumber for the county of Union. He is survived by his wife Mary C. Gordon Buckley. 4 Children: John Buckley Jr. of Fla. Patricia Idarraga and her husband Carlos of Fla. Gary Principato of Linden, and April Ruszala of Tuckerton. He is also survived by his mother Kathleen Hausler and her husband Joseph of NY and his Father: Peter Buckley of Brick. 8 Brothers and sisters: Peter J. Buckley III and his wife Ann of Clark, Timothy Buckley of Bound Brook, Patrick and Brendon Buckley both of Calif., Kathleen Buckley of Old Bridge, Karen Schulhafer and her husband Jim of Linden and Judy Conticchio and her husband Gerry of Calif, and stepsister Lora Mae Hunter of Calif. Also surviving are 11 Grandchildren.
Viewing hours will be held on Thursday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2170 Hwy. 88 Brick. Going Home Service will be offered on Friday 10:00am at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. In lieu of flowers please make donations to American Diabetes Assoc. NJ office. It is with a heavy heart I give to all of you my deepest condolences on losing this man of great spirit, wit and heart. It almost seems impossible he will no longer walk among us but I know he is in our Lords hands. Mary, we are so sorry to hear of John's passing. All of the time that we knew John he was always an amazing example of walking through hardship with a joyous spirit and a smile for everyone. It warms my heart as I think of John, in his new Heavenly body, sitting at the feet of the Lord worshipping Him and basking in the radiance of His presence. What a wonderful witness John's life was to the joy that comes from keeping one's eyes on the Lord.
