He was a great man and a great worker.

John was a true gentleman and a great leader in the implementation of Superpave technologies. I knew John through his involvement in the asphalt technology area and his leadership of the Expert Task Groups of the FHWA. John you have been missed in the industry since your retirement and your friends will miss you always now you have left this earthly world. John was one of the most knowledgeable, reasonable and responsive FHWA representatives with whom I was privileged to work during my career with the Pennsylvania DOT and the PA Asphalt Pavement Assoc. Moreover, his pleasant demeanor and wonderful smile were a joy. John will be missed!! My prayers for comfort are with the family during these difficult times.

Through the Nanjing Jia Yu I was shocked to hear that Mr. John Bukowski died. Mr. John Bukowski is a kind, kind, professional and helpful civil engineer. We met him in 2005 and invited him to Jiaxing to give lectures on Superpave pavement new technology and conduct on-site construction guidance. , benefited a lot! I knew John through FHWA and had many talks about asphalt over the last 25+ years. Very sad to hear of his passing. I enjoyed spending time and talking to him. He will be missed by many people. I am sorry that I missed his service but have been in the hospital with a stroke.

I met John in the early 90's and was always impressed by his Quiet demeanor and Asphalt expertise that he processed.

I met John in 1983 when we both worked for Asphalt Institute. He was a good friend, mentor, and leader. I think of him just about every day because he truly changed the arc of my career. I will miss John and his great outlook on life and work. His smile always made me feel better no matter what the challenge. Godspeed John, you are my friend forever.

I am very sad to heard he was died in October 30, 2019. John is my good friend. John was my good friend. He was a noble person, a pure person, a kind person, a person who benefits the asphalt industry not only in US but also international.
