Helping the Future Arrive
John E. Bulaga Jr. and his wife, Michelle, were three days away from closing on their first house, in Haskell, N.J, when the World Trade Center was attacked. Mrs. Bulaga bought the house a few weeks later.
She will move into it soon with their two daughters, Rhiannon, who is 6, and the baby, Alannah, who is not quite 6 months old.
"It's hard to think of what the future is going to hold," she said. "We had these plans, and now I have to make new plans or a different version of those plans."
But, she said, John, 35, would have wanted her and the girls to go on with their lives, in their new home only minutes from where he and his wife grew up. Looking to the future is what he was all about.
Mr. Bulaga was a network engineer with eSpeed, a subsidiary of Cantor Fitzgerald. Since he was a boy watching the original "Star Trek" series, he has loved technology and all its implications for changing the world, his wife said.
"He always wanted to have a hand in that, in helping the future to arrive," she said. "He was so happy that he could do that."
John - I can't believe it has been 20 years. I think about you and your family often. RIP.

Although all of these obits are very sad, this one is indeed sad, as this family was about to start off in a new house. I pause today to especially pray for a special blessing on Michelle and her two daughters, as well as all of the rest of John's family and his many friends. We will never forget. With much love from Texas,

Dear Bulaga Family,
I did not know your beloved John, but my heart goes out to all of you. I have read through this guest list and I feel John was a terrific guy by the writings here. It was just by chance that I came across John when I was searching for some peace in my heart on Sept 11, 2014..... 13 years later, I still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing....from California, I send you all the biggest hug!
I am sorry for your loss ??
