Not sure what to say?

John, and his acute observations on Brazilian developmental issues, will never be forgotten. Nor his role as a true friend. We shall miss him forever.

I´m an old childhood friend of the family and an saddened by the news of his passing. My heart goes out to his family.

To John’s family, please accept my sincere condolences. I remember John, and Albert and my classmate Tony, with great fondness. I am sorry that we have lost track of one another, but not at all surprised to read this wonderful account of his life, his caring, and his love. He was marked for mensch-dom at an early age. I wish you peace, and joy in all that John did and was.

I greatly admired John. He was always energetic, thoughtful, and considerate. He was a cherished colleague and I will miss him.

My heart goes out to Judith and the whole Burdick family on John's passing. I knew John through our committee work together at SU, and through our mutual friends. I loved catching up on his work in Brazil, and so appreciated his fair mindedness and the warmth he exuded in discussions. We will all miss him.

He always was ready to write a letter of recommendation or give advice or read a draft of something. I admired his...

I am very saddened to hear this news. John was a thoughtful, compassionate and caring teacher, and a great mentor and advisor. I still remember his words of wisdom as I went off into the field for the first time: "Allow yourself room to be surprised." My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Condolences to The Family & LoVed Ones. This is TRULY mind boggling. John was EVERything for EVERYbody. Enjoyed working with him at WRI. #Humanitarian. Lived his Name
