John Burton

John, or as we called him in Rothsay´s social studies class, Mr. Burton, was a very kind man. He tried to be tough and reign us (me) in, but sometimes the course of the hour could be turned into an impromptu bologna sandwich (thanks mom) party! I remember and appreciate his spiritual strength even through tough times, like when he lost his lovely wife too soon. It seems as though, after reading his obituary, he left a legacy of which I never heard him recount-perhaps a testament to his humble...

So sorry to hear about John´s passing. I was fortunate enough to make a few visits to see him in the last several years. It was fun to reminisce and remember old times at Rothsay High School! He was a wonderful person!
