In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

My earliest memory of Pete is grade school sports.A real competitor and tough as nails.I can still hear Bob Hawley saying,"don't get your irish up".He always did and it seemed to motivate him.My wife Novene who is the Asst.Social director for St.Peter has him sitting in the front row.Novene is very persuasive!Your a good man and I'm sure a great husband and father. You will be missed by all who knew you............Grief is directly proportional to love.Be ready for the long haul as I have.

I believe this is the John Byrne who taught at Bishop McDevitt HS in the 1960's. If so, on behalf of HR21 class of 1966, I offer my condolences in your loss.
