No one really dies until he is forgotten. John will always be with us, in our minds and in our hearts. With great respect and fond memories, Judith Nadler.

I knew John through my position at the British Library and various international cataloguing groups in the 1980s and 90s. and enjoyed his company. My sincere condolences.

John was a cherished giving friend and an amazing colleague. I worked with John in many capacities with the most important one being with IFLA and its Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records in my role as its chair. John received the highest accolades through the American Library Association and worked endlessly in generous support of international colleagues to further worldwide sharing of information. He will be missed and my heart goes out to Billy and the rest of his family.

John was a wonderful person who shared his expertise with so many of his colleagues. My deepest sympathy to Billy and to Johns family.

John was a lovely man and a great friend, professionally and personally, for more than 40 years. My condolences to Billy and John's family.
