I have only the fondest of memories of your father as my piano teacher and music teacher throughout my years at St Bernadettes. . Always patient. Always kind. Always clever in teaching all the youngsters about music. He was a beloved member of the community. He was always so kind to my parents. Many prayers of thanks to God that your dad was in our lives. Dear John: I am sorry that we did not get to say our goodbye's in person. Speaking on behalf of Rosary for Life, we had no idea that your health had deteriorated so quickly, and, again, we found out about your Funeral Mass after it was over. I remember Mr. Cabala from when I was 11 years old and he our music teacher at St. Bernadette School. He was probably only 22 years old at the time. All the girls thought he was the handsomest! And ... nice. Never challenged our out of tune voices! As the years passed our Dad, befriended Mr. Cabala. Dad would play the violin at mass with Mr. Cabala as he played the organ and sang. Always willing to lend a hand, he offered to stint my Dad frequently and drive our Mother into Cleveland for...

Mr. Cabala lived at a property I manage. He would come in to the office once a month and was always so kind and friendly. He was a nice man and I will miss talking to him about music when I would see him on the property . Rest in peace

I attended St Bernadette from 1984-1988. Mr Cabala was a very special person always loving his music and life. I remember him playing the church organ with passion and reverence. What a blessing to have known him. Janette (Veloira) Hostettler

John Cabala was a great man. I have so many memories of him from my years as a student at St. Bernadette. He taught us music in the early years and I had the pleasure of singing with him as an adult. He always asked about everyone in my family and his kindness knew no boundaries. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Mr. Cabala donated more hours of his time and talent than any of us could count. Fond memories as a member of the Class of 1982 and as one of his piano students. My deepest condolences to his family and the St. Bernadette community.
