OVERTON WAS IN MY CLASS AT HUDDLE ELEMENTARY WHEN HE WAS IN THE SIXTH GRADE. HE WAS A FRIENDLY STUDENT WITH A DESIRE TO LEARN. HIS PARENTS WERE SUPPORTIVE OF OVERTON AND THE SCHOOL. HE IS ONE OF THE STUDENTS WHO MADE TEACHING REWARDING. CHARLES HOWARD

I am very sorry for the passing of John. He was a wonderful guy and will be greatly missed. I knew John when I lived in Alexandria before I married and a job change took me to California. I have now returned to Louisiana and will miss visiting with him and talking about LSU football. John was a super guy and was kind enough to take me boating on Lake Kincaid. My sympathies to his family and sister. I know that he is in heaven and
