I salute my Dear and faithful comrade. We served in the Same Company A 5th Engineer Bn. the 3rd Platoon, the same Squad. When I was wounded on 2/19/45, D-Day, and our Sargent was killed, he took me to the Aid Station Through out our Marine experience he was a loyal brave and trusted comrade. So sorry for your loss! John was our mailman for many years , and always shared a smile and warm greetings.
As a fellow Marine we always shared our many experiences. We both were in the same regiment in the Marines, although at different times. I served in Vietnam.
He will be greatly missed!

My deepest sympathy to you all on your Dad's passing. I will always remember his welcoming smile and great sense of humor, especially when he was delivering mail. I know he will not be forgotten. He was a fixture in town.
