Not sure what to say?

Only got to know this amazing individual in the past 4-5 years...however, he made a lasting impression on me from the very first meeting. People like him are a rarity and a treasure. My regret, not getting to know him better. RIP John...

Sending a big hug for you Martha and keeping all of your family in my prayers today as you remember the pure joys of time with John, who truly was a remarkable human being! May today bring many more smiles than tears.

I was a classmate of John's at Exeter, where he was a deacon of the Phillips Church. He had wonderful energy; a good soul. He must have been needed urgently elsewhere. On his next mission. May his memory be a blessing.

I believe he was in my class, did the Campbell´s live in Sylvan. I think they lived off my street.

I saw the news about John in the Harvard Magazine. We were classmates back in the day, and became good friends. He introduced me to Bruce Springsteen, for which I am eternally grateful, and we both loved a good book. I stayed on the East Coast after graduation, and he headed back to the West. We did not stay in touch, but I was always grateful for our friendship and his kindness. Rest In Peace John. You meant a great deal to me way back when.

I was a classmate of John's at Exeter and remember him fondly. So sad to hear of his passing, and condolences to all his family and loved ones

On his birthday, my heart aches for John´s family today. Books are not exactly comforting: my pictured stack is a weak attempt to symbolize some of the powerful ideas and strategies John Campbell gave my life, so freely. He "got me" - John found a hidden "writer" inside me and saw potential in me I didn´t see. John´s teaching still presses on my daily life-- I looked "under the hood" this past, heartbroken month. The CDRI offices, where we worked together 1995-1999, were a fabulous place...

I was so sorry to hear this sad news. Back int the late 80s and 90s I worked with John on several video programs for various Housing Authorities. John was always very clear in his communications and had a talent for teaching. He also had a great Sense of Humor. We wont forget the great experiences working on projects together.

I met John only once, at a friend's birthday party. He radiated kindness & altruism.
