I first met John when our sons were in 4th grade together. They were bound at the hip, so we saw each other frequently. When my wife and I bought a fixer upper house, John volunteered to help. He motivated me to forget dealing with contractors and just go at it. I bought a heavy hammer drill, ordered windows and doors and we were off and running.
He made innumerable Home Depot trips with his van and was there most every day for months . I always had to push him to take any money for his...
