Not sure what to say?

I just learned a moment ago of John's passing two years ago. John was the finest employer I ever had the privilege of working for. He treated me like a daughter, but respected me as a colleague. I think of my time with The General Agency, working with Chip, Billy, Donna and all the staff as one of my most blessed times in my varied career. Although late in sending them, my condolences are no less heartfelt. Heaven's gain is truly earth's loss. Prayers for the family as they carry on...

There are certain people you have the gift and distinct pleasure to meet in your life and Captain John sure fell into that category for me. From the first day I met him in 1989 he treated me like family . He was my friend and I hope he knew that I was his. I think he did. He was a true Southern gentleman. His level of intelligence was second to none. He always elevated everyone around him by his words and actions. Even with all the success he enjoyed in the business world, through his own...

And life goes on... we grow day by day year by year we have so many in our lives that pass us by and then there is the ones that have had such an impact on you that has been such an inspiration to you, made you feel so loved to so many of us.That was Mr. C. Thank you for being there for us all those years. God has given another angel his wings and he is in Grand company. Prayers for all of you.

To all the Capplemann kids, I'm sorry for your loss. I can remember raging around the beach on Sullivan's Island as a kid with all of you. Your Dad was always one of the happiest men in the room, whether it was at your house or at the Arion Society. I'm sure my Dad and yours are standing in the water fishing right now.

Very best regards,
Johnny Pennell

Dear Sean & Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of your father & grandfather. His contribution to our industry in its infancy was matched by few. My sympathies to you all during this difficult time. Keep those memories close.

Heartfelt condolences to all on the loss of your father. He was such a fine man who lived a life in service to his family and community. Love and prayers from the Chakides and Gaffos families...may his memory be eternal and a blessing to all who knew him.

He was always bigger than life to me. I'll always cherish the memories. Grady

I listed "student" as relationship. The reason being I believe I was a student of a Ms. Cappelmann that lived on Rutledge Ave. I started taking piano when I was +/- 9 yrs. old in 1945. I believe that John resembled his Mother (?). Fond memories of the house on Rutledge. May your memories of John be a blessing to you all.
