Marlene and family, first anniversaries can feel like yesterday when we think about Little John. Missing him with you.

Johnny, you were a very special individual. I cherish your book, Brother Against Brother. Your face always lit up when you were talking about it, bringing joy to so many and also increasing their understanding of the Civil War. You will be missed by your family and friends.

Marlene, our deepest condolences to you and your family for your loss, may the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I am sorry I will not be able to attend the service for John, as we are attending to a critically ill family member. I am sorry to hear of John's passing and especially send my condolences to Marlene, as the 3 of us were co-workers at Square D/ Schneider Electric for many years. John was a passionate and enthusiastic man.
