Not sure what to say?

I don't know why I was thinking about Mr. Carman today but am very sorry to learn of his passing. He was the homeroom teacher in the room next to mine when I was in 8th grade and I remember how kind he was. I saw him again during the summer when he came to Rutgers Village working with the recreation department. I never realized just how accomplished he was until I read his obituary, but I did know that he was a kind and compassionate gentleman. My sympathy to his family and may he rest in...

I grew up in New Brunswick in the 1960's. I remember Mr. Carmen as one of the nicest people I've ever met. I think every kid in the city knew and loved him. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sorry to learn of Herb Carman's death. I did not know him well but, I sincerely appreciated his intelligence, grace and sense of humor. My sincere sympathies to Linda and his entire family.

Good man and friend!

I lost a piece of my childhood today with Herb's passing! Herb was my little league coach. My condolences to the family.

Great friend and truly a most Loyal Son of Rutgers. His support of Rutgers Athletics was very special to all of us that followed The Scarlet Knights. Thank you John for your many years as a truly loyal fan and friend.

Linda so sorry to hear that Herb has left this world. My condolences. He was a Rutgers legend and we are all so proud of what he contributed. Rest in peace. Sincerely Dr. Michael C. Illuzzi Class 1977

My condolences to the family. What a great teacher and fine man. I learned so much in his class and respected Mr. Carman so much!

My sincere condolences to the Carman Family.
Herb was one of a kind. #1 class act. Just read all the beautiful memories everyone has written about him. I remember many nights sitting at my fathers restaurant sipping on a beer and eating pizza. He had that laugh that was contagious. I feel privileged to have had him as a friend. RIP HERB. And God Bless his family.
