I met Tarzan in the mid 60s and have considered him a great friend ever since. Loved his wit and many stories. As a member of the billard community I always respected and admired his skills and demeanor. In some hectic times growing up around a pool room in the 60's Tarzan more than anyone else kept me from running with the wrong crowd and kept me out of serious trouble. I have known John through his association with the Charleston billiards community for the past 25+ years, and he was always a quality individual. He was always quite friendly, very competitive, and a consummate gentleman. I am very sorry to learn of his passing.
