John S. Casagrande, 79, of Delabole, PA passed away Thursday, February 3rd, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Allentown.


John was born in Delabole, PA on August 3, 1942, a son of the late John C. and Julia E. (Sartor) Casagrande.


He was the husband of Lucille J. (Liiro) Casagrande. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary last June. John graduated from Pen Argyl High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and was awarded medals for Sharpshooter Rifle M-14 and Vietnam Service Medal. John was employed as a Cutter and Spreader at A&H Sportswear, until retiring in 2009. He was also employed at Scotty's Fashions in Pen Argyl.


John enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball for the Green and White Youth Assoc. in Pen Argyl. He also enjoyed watching Pen Argyl High School football and was an avid New York Yankees and Chicago Bears fan.


He was a member of Family Life Community Church in Bangor, PA.


In addition to his wife, Lucille, John is survived by a daughter, Danielle Casagrande, a son, John L. Casagrande, husband of Kathleen, two sisters, Sonia Mulitsch and Mary Hawk, 3 grandchildren, Alexandria Piazza wife of Justin Minervini. Kaley Margaret Casagrande and John James Casagrande, 1 great-granddaughter Lillian Castner, and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by three brothers Angelo DaRe, Louis P. Casagrande, and Lido M. Casagrande, Sr., and one sister Gloria Correll.


A Memorial Services will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, February 19th at Family Life Community Church, 1115 Richmond Road, Bangor, PA. Family and friends are invited to call from 11 AM till 12 PM on Saturday, February 19th at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Pen Argyl, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
