Send Flowers

Objects of His Affection

John F. Casazza met his wife-to-be, Patty Fahy, at Shalimar, a disco on Route 35 in South Amboy, N.J., on Sept. 21, 1984. She was wearing beige pants, a sweater with a blazer and heels; he had on black pants, a shirt and tie, and a Members Only jacket. They danced to the pop tune "Wishing on a Star."

"I can recall it all," Patty Casazza said. Mr. Casazza would bring his wife flowers on Friday nights, and would run into the stands to give her a welcome kiss when she arrived late to watch him coach their son's Little League baseball team at Laird Field in Colts Neck, N.J., where they lived.

"I loved it," she said, laughing. "He had no problem showing his affection."

Mr. Casazza, 38, would always prefer to go home to his family than to take clients out on the town, said Jim Lee, who knew him since the two attended kindergarten on Staten Island. It was Mr. Lee who drove Mr. Casazza to his first date with Patty.

Mr. Casazza worked his way to his position as a government bond trader at Cantor Fitzgerald, the kind of job normally available only to people with a college degree, Mr. Lee said. "John was the kind of person who never had anything handed to him," he said. "But John always had the determination and the drive."

Not sure what to say?

John and I attended Farrell the same years. John was a tremendous guy. We were not close but we always said hi to each other and I had a ton of respect for him. I think of him often. RIP eternally John.

My mom (Frances Casazza) said we're distant cousins. We never met. Although if we did, I'm sure we would have been great friends. You are never forgotten. And never will be. ❤

I can't believe it's been 22 years. I was john's tennis coach and friend. He was the best, hard working, fun, amazing dad and husband. I always think of him on this sad day.

22 years have passed and yet it feels like yesterday. I continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

I can't believe it's been 21 years. So much has changed in the world and in our family and Sept. 11 was a turning point for much of that. Patti and John, wherever you are these days, I think of you both often and wish you health, love, happiness and healing.

Hard to believe 20 years have passed. God bless the Casazza family always. John is a friend never forgotten, always remembered, especially on this anniversary. RIP

Remembering John on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...

Been reading this guest book going on 18 years now. Thank you John Wayson for always posting, for your thoughts and prayers. Love reading my cousin Barbara's posts. I wish I would have listened to you and come to that reunion. RIP Barb. Some old friends of Johns like bobby mcgee and Joey Gargano have posted. Hey Joey, that Texas chili was Roger Fioris recipe. I have never had chili like that ever again. RIP Roger Dodger. Even a post by Birdy. Remember me taking you deep in stick...
