Not sure what to say?

Barbara and family-
I just heard of John's passing and want to express my sincerest condolences. The world was a better place because of John Cashen. I worked with I him in my early years at Evergreen MS. John was a role model for how to treat people- patience, kind, empathetic, and of course a huge sense of humor. I learned a lot from him and am grateful for having known John as a colleague and friend. He did make a difference and will be missed.

You will be missed, we always enjoyed when you attended our ECC meetings and show. John was always there to help out the club in anyway he could.

He was my 6th Grade Teacher...We were earthquake refugees together from Monroe Elementary to Hawthorne...He took us on amazing field trips for Science...Stopping at a now mythical Electronic Supply on Aurora Avenue...To his entire Family...Thank you ever so much for sharing him with us...W.D. Williamson

I am so sorry to hear this news. Mr. Cashen was my 7th grade block teacher at Evergreen Middle School and was my favorite teacher. He was the best! He was very caring to all his students. My dad passed away that year and he was there for me with compassion and sympathy. I will never forget him.

A man who needed few words to let you know how much he cared, he honored the people in his life and made us all feel worthy. The love for his family shown through in his choices and was a wonderful example to his kids--related or not. (I'll always remember the twinkle in his eye as he related a story about his students or his kids!) I pray for peace for your family even as I thank God for the short time our paths crossed.

So Sorry for your loss, Barb and family. John will live on in my families memories as a kind, humorous and warm hearted man, always fun to be around and converse with. Sending love and prayers to all who knew him, he will be missed!

So sorry for your loss. Don and Anita Hutter

How sad I was to read of John's passing. He was such a kind and gentle soul. I enjoyed conversing with him as we sold football tickets each fall. He was a very, very special person. He will be missed. Take care Barb, Erin and family. I feel your sorrow.

Dear Cashen family, I am so saddened by John's passing. You were all a Huge part of my life. From my first babysitting jobs, my wonderful sounding boards and Barb being my personal home-Ec teacher. John always walked me up the hill after watching the (kids) even though I only lived a few houses away. I loved being in the store and hearing hey "Rocky". It ment my old neighborhood family was in the store too! Love you all so much. Please remember how loved John was. Prayers and big hugs to you...
