As a member of Washburne Trade Chef's Alumni Association, John was committed to supporting our fundraisers and was well remembered for "belting" out a great show as a part of the entertainment.
He was also the first chef I served under at IBM in Chicago after joining the Szabo Food Service Company in 1980. John treated me with respect and I will always remember and be grateful to him.
God bless you Debbie, and family.

John was one of the most genuine people in the foodservice industry. He was a master of his craft. I was honored to work with John for four years in the 90s at Eurest. His loss will be felt my many.

John was the nicest person in the food industry. I remember John from our old Szabo days! and most recently we worked togther for a while. He was always the life of the party. His sudden passing is such a shock, he was a good man..and had a laugh the rest of the world could never mimmick!. John you will be dearly missed.

John was a long time friend. Initially with Szabo Food Service and for the many years with Eurest and Compass. John attended the wedding of my daughter Melissa and was nice enough to get up and perform as the great "soul man" that he was.
John, we will miss you.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of John. He truly was a soul man with a big heart and loved by many. As quoted by Emily Dickinson ,"Unable are the loved to die; for love is immortality." May this bring some comfort to John's family and close friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
