Rest in Peace Coach! Thanks for everything you did for me!

Recently heard of John's passing.Deepest condolences to Caveny family. Became friendly with John at the CJAC. His quick smile and engaging personality made him many friends at the gym. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Dear Bonnie ~ I've just learned of John's passing and I'm sad for you and your family. John was such a tremendous leader in our LeMoyne Class of '62 (as were YOU) and he put spark and fun in everything he touched. Please know that John will be remembered in my prayers and I've asked our daughter, Vickie, who went to Heaven six years ago, to meet John, introduce herself, and give him a kiss on the cheek from my husband, Bob Bowler, and from me. With fond memories and lots of love, Marilynn...

Bonnie and family, we were just sharing a funny story (which there were many with John) with friends on Friday evening and heard of John's passing on Sunday. Our hearts go out to you, wonderful love and memories.

I had the honor of meeting John and Bonnie just this past summer. What a wonderful couple and example of a committed Christian marriage! Their beautiful family is so blessed to have had such admirable man as John in their lives. I pray for them to be comforted in their loss.

John was a great athlete, and even better person ... witty, always with a good story, forever upbeat regardless of the situation ... RIP, John ... Bob Snyder

My prayers and condolences are with the Caveny family.

Jim Burke, LeMoyne 60

John was my best friend when I left the Bronx to go to LeMoyne in the fall of 1958. I attended many dinners with his family back then at McCool Ave. in East Syracuse. We also had many intense one on one basketball games back in the day ( he was tough!) I was also on a double date with John for his first date with Bonnie. Our last time together was at his home in Vestal watching Joe Namath and the Jets beat the Colts on 1969. Gail and I will miss him terribly! God Bless you, Bonnie. We love...

Dear Caveny Family,John was a good friend and a great guy. He will be missed by all who knew him. You are in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn his passing. Sincerely,Tim and Terry Grippen
