Not sure what to say?

Well the Class of 1967 St. Joe Indians will be having our 55th reunion later this summer. We will honor you along with the other classmates who have passed. Just be sure to mark the date, Sept. 23rd and 24th on your heavenly calendar and check in on us. You are missed, my friend!

May your family be consoled that John must be drawing pictures of heaven that extoll the beauty John so often produced with his talent.

It had to be '59 or '60 at St Mary's Campus School, and I was in the half class of students the nuns put together with half of the next grade up... 4th or 5th graders, I don't remember which. Wally and I were both in that younger half-class - so was Peter Pleasants and many others as I remember. The nuns of course told our parents their children in the "younger half" (even though in the same classroom all year) would all receive the correct grade of lessons... they lied. At year's end,...

To the Cernak Family, my deepest heartfelt sympathy. John was a dear friend and will be greatly missed. I will always cherish the memories and good times we had together. Rest in peace old friend.

Designers help shape our lives and John shaped many lives. As a fellow classmate at St. Joseph's High School - class of '67 - I remember him fondly. At our recent 50th reunion and subsequent 70th birthday party, we connected despite the geographic and time distance of all those miles and years! What a wonderful, caring and creative soul. To this day I treasure my Intramural Basketball Tee Shirt that John created. I will find it. We were and will always be "The Bleeding Kidneys". Thanks for...

My deepest condolences to the Cernak family. John was a treasured friend, a godfather to my daughter, and a gifted artist with genius talent. The last time we spoke he was especially proud of his sons. Taken too soon, he will be truly missed

My condolences to the family of John. I worked with John at Invoateus Solar. I loved worked with him and taking a road trip to NASCAR in Richmond some years ago.

My deepest condolences to Nicholas and Jonathan and their family. I was so very sad to read the news of your dad's passing. I worked for John 40+ years ago at his design studio in South Bend - through the years you were both born. I learned a lot from him, both in graphic design and in the design business. He was always driven to do the best work. He had the psyche of a fine artist, even as he created commercial products. I especially appreciated his sense of humor. He was a person...

To the Cernak Family: May I offer my deepest condolences to you. John, Wally and I were grade school and high school classmates. As usually happens, life drew us apart. John attended my birthday party in December to listen to some great saxophone music. He also joined our high school group for lunch in January. Those two encounters will always remain in my heart. May you truly rest in peace with the Lord! I will miss you, my friend!
