Dear Sue and family,

My heartfelt condolences. John was one of my very best friends in the U.S. Forest Service. I have wonderful memories of the times we spent together. I'm adding a picture of John taken in 1978 in the courtyard of our hotel in Tokyo, Japan. We spent a month together touring the Pacific with stops in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Guam, Iwo Jima, and Hawaii. What an adventure! I will never forget my good buddy John.
