Dear Betsy & Family,
I was extremely saddened to learn of John's passing. John was simply a wonderful human being who enriched the lives of all he touched. He will be greatly missed.

John and I shared a fondness for Far Side and he would often stop by my office at Parkside to see if I had posted a new Far Side cartoon. He had a keen wit and sense of humour. His daily pilgrimage to spend time with Betsy was a beautiful thing to behold.

Dear Betsy.We regret not getting a chance to tell you in person how sorry we are to hear of John's passing. I was on my way to his room with coffee for the 2 of us early in the afternoon of the 27th. when told that he was gone. He was my favorite "Senator" and he would always offer some " pearls of wisdom" as Al Taylor would say.
