John A. La Chapelle

John was a colleague and a friend. He was the first to offer every kind of help I needed when first moving in with my family. I could feel that giving was in his nature. He simply didn't tire of going the extra mile for those in need. He exuded joy. Seeing his picture brings joy and a tear. May the world have others like him.

When visiting my Mom, it was great hanging out with John and the gang at the Micheal's House community room...chatting and drinking wine. John was always a delight to talk to...RIP.

I had the pleasure of working with John at the art museum for many years, and he was always one of my favorite coworkers. His warmth and friendly, positive presence was always a pleasure to those around him. Not to mention his jokes, stylish threads, and charming personality. He was always supportive when my hair started to get long and crazy. “Looks great, keep it growin!” One thing that was always clear to me through my conversations with John was how proud he was of his children, and how...

I'm glad I got to know John a bit through the museum. He was indeed always friendly and helpful, enthusiastic and joyful, flashing that great smile, recommending Connecticut beach walks (with driving directions). My heartfelt condolences to family and friends. . . .

My heart is broken with you leaving this world so soon. You will never be forgotten, from your beautiful smile, amazing conversations, laughter, love for everyone you met. Your family and all of us have have lost a dear and loving friend.

The last time I saw John was a morning I ran into him on the street in Northampton and it turned out we were headed in the same direction so he jumped in my car and we commuted together - his end destination the beach, mine merely work. (pre-lockdown). I have only known him a relatively short while, but I won't ever forget him. My heart is with you all at this time.

RIP John, A person who was always fun to be around, and enjoyed good conversation. As a classmate always approachable, and life of the party at our 50th reunion. Condolences to his family and friends.
