Not sure what to say?

When I served as a guide at Samara, Dr. Christian was always present, welcoming guests and answering questions, and he always had a complimentary word for his guides afterwards. Truly a gentleman and a scholar of the first rank. We will miss him. Bob Nixon, Lafayette.

A true humanitarian, scholar and West Lafayette community leader. Many wonderful words have been written of Mr. Christian..all so very true. Immanuel (UCC) Extension Homemakers Club visited his home many years ago. We were guests and were given a home tour and met him in person--a truly humble man. He will be missed. Our respect and condolences to his many family members. God Bless All of you.

Linda. So sad to hear about your father and my sincere condolences. What a gracious excelled person and monumental scholar. Dr. Christian (Jon) was my major professor in Bionucleonics and will never forget the graduate student parties at Samara; and growing up also in the neighborhood across from your cousins Jon and Jean Lischke. Very fond memories of a man with passion and love of life. Tom Peyton, Lafayette, IN

Dear Linda, I was sad to hear that John had died. He was such a gracious man. I was privileged to work with him for 10 years while on the Purdue faculty and learned so much from him on how to be both a scholar and a human being. We will all miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My condolences to you Linda. I have the most wonderful memories of you and your parents. It was always a joy to be in your fabulous home and get to do plays in your dining room that were produced by Sayre Karling. Your Dad was such a generous, thoughtful and friendly soul. I will miss his smiling face and his friendly wave as he drove down our neighborhood street!
Love, hugs and prayers to you!

Your father was such a blessing to the Purdue Community. I took high school pre engineering students to visit his home and was so fortunate to have him there to tell the stories personally. A tour that will never be forgotten. He made a huge impact on the students. The preservation of Samara is greatly appreciated by many. Prayers are with the family.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Dr Christian. I have good memories of my years at Purdue in his program. Very rewarding and I feel like we are all a little bit less with his passing. Rest in Peace.

Oh Linda, I am so sorry, but so glad you got to go visit your house in WL each time you went home to see your dad. I miss 623 Ridgewood Dr. and our old neighborhoods. I have not been back to WL since I visited your dad at Samara. I will always remember my nice visit with Uncle John that summer afternoon. I would love to hear from you.

My husband and I meet John 24 yrs ago when we had the privilege to tour his beautiful home. He was a delightful man and he loved to share his stories of Frank Lloyd Wright. John will be missed. Please know your family is in our prayers.
