She so enjoyed his company, whether it was sharing his latest baked treat, a meal with his kind family or an evening around the TV or card table. He was a good and dear friend to Mom. When I saw this obituary, I recognized John from his ever-present smile, which I remember from the years we worked together at the Grand Dairy Store when I was a teenager in the late 1950's. He sure could pound out sales on the manual cash register! I imagine this was a part-time job for him...he worked many nights and week-ends. What a hard worker! He was a good example for me, and always positive with the customers.
