Not sure what to say?

My Prayers and Condolances to John's family for your loss. John was a friend, always light-hearted and always had profound insight to offer my troubles. I will Truly miss him.

I am sorry that my condolences to Johns family are somewhat late. Your loss is great for he was a kind man and a very proud father. I received some gifts from John that I still treasure some 20 years later - he had a knack with his insight. Rest in Peace sweet John.

Clapper was the best! The Buddha! John brought such peace and insight to all who had the fortune to know him. I will miss him greatly, I do miss him. I bought a Pema Chodron book tonight, John introduced me to her, in John's honor. My thoughts and prayers for the Clapper family.

John,
Thank you for all the times you made me see that everything happens for a reason. I have kept all the poems you wrote for me in a safe place and read them often for reflection. Hope you know how much your friendship meant to me. You will be missed terribly.

I am sorry to hear of John's death. He was a classmate at school. He was full of fun and had a wonderful spirit.
My prayers and condolences to his family.

JCC,

I am playing your old guitar you gave me. I am sad for all the people who will miss the great joy you brought to life and the inner light you were always shining.
I am sorry we lost touch. We became such good friends in the short few years we knew each other. I always thought we would get around to reconnecting but I guess not, that is the saddest part for me. I know that you have joined the greater consciousness and are now with the divine light. I find solace in something...

I had the opportunity to work with John at Canyon Ranch and he was a wonderful man, He always had a smile on his face no matter what the situation was. I wish I had gotten to know him better than I did. He will be deeply missed at the Ranch as he was a very big part of the culinary team there and everyone who worked with him had a great deal of respect for him as well.

Sam Clapper and Family,
Know we were very sorry to hear of your great loss. Our thoughts are with you.
