Under John Hart Clinton, the San Mateo Times, was a Republican paper. The newspaper's masthead declared it as "The Leading Republican Newspaper of San Mateo County," indicating its political affiliation. Thanks for advocating for the Republicans, Mr. Clinton. The people of San Mateo County thank you very much.

John will always be missed. He was a good friend to all.

I am saddened to learn of John´s passing, he was a great classmate and leader at San Mateo High. My Mother was an acquaintance and friend of his sister, Mary Jane. My sincere condolences to Nina and the entire family in this time grief. My he reside in the warmth of your heart going forward. Our classmates will miss him.

I worked at the San Mateo Times when John Clinton Jr. was in charge and J. Hart was still alive. I remember J. I was very privileged to know John through his St. Vincent de Paul service in San Mateo County. He had great compassion for those in need including our homeless and incarcerated neighbors. My life is better for having known him. May he rest in Peace and Love.

I´m sorry to hear of John´s passing. I had the pleasure of working for him at the Times. He was a wonderful, kind leader and I have many fond memories of our Times family. He will be greatly missed by many.

I worked at The Times so many years ago and absolutely loved it. The Clinton family ran it as a family and made all of us feel like a part of the family. John was great to work with and will be missed. My condolences to his family, he was a good man.

I´m sorry to hear of John´s passing. John and I were in the same class ( SMHS Class of 62 ). He will be missed by all. My condolences to you and your family.
