Not sure what to say?

John and I attended the IU Law School together in the early '50s. when he was 25 years old. We first became acquainted because we were both from Evansville, but a deeper friendship quickly developed.

John loved life and hated bigotry and unfairness in any form. His wonderful, wry sense of humor was unequaled. He was unusually bright and even as a young man was widely read and loved literature.

In the years that we both practiced law in Evansville, my liking for him continued...

John and I practiced law together back in the fifties. we tried many cases together. He was a great lawyer, a great pereson, a brave and courageous man, and one of my dearest and closest friends. His death is a great loss to Evansville.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of John. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I met John in 1986 at a Travelers' Century Club meeting in Los Angeles. At that time John had visited 300 Countries in the world!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your TCC memories bring you comfort.

It was very sad to hear of John's passing. He was a most enjoyable person and it was a pleasure to have been able to share several travel trips with him. He was a great motivator to see more of this big world... He will be missed.

I think it is fair to say those of us who traveled with John knew him as a likable, interesting, jovial, intelligent man, and a dedicated traveler who wanted to see the places he visited, in depth. John really believed in enjoying life to its fullest.

His passing closes a significant chapter in the history of the Travelers' Century Club, and he will be greatly missed.

On my own behalf, and that of the Travelers' Century Club, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to...

To the Family of Mr. Clouse my appreciation to you for sharing such a wonderful man. When we met in the Civic Center he would ask where I purchased my ties. He was a gentle giant. My prayers are for your strength and comfort.
