John Robert Collier

In Watrous Nursing Center, Madison, after a long illness, John Robert Collier, husband of Ann Brusseau Collier of 6 Manorwood Dr., Branford, died Wednesday April 22, 2009. He was born in New Haven April 13, 1929, son of the late Edward and Helen Sweeney Collier. He was a USMC veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from Perrelli Armstrong, where he worked as sales manager for 17 years. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford where he served on the Vestry and also was the building and grounds chairman, and he was a member of American Legion Post 83 in Branford. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Kathleen (Joseph) Thomas of Branford, two sons, David (Debbie) Collier of Trumbull, and Steven (Sheila) Collier of Branford; 8 grandchildren, Joseph Jr. and Kaitlin Thomas, David Jr. and Kylie Collier, and Matthew, Andrew, Danielle and Ryan Collier; and two brothers, William and Donald Collier of Branford. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Edward and Kenneth Collier and 3 sisters, Estelle Werner, Marion Blake, and Helen Seebo. Friends are invited to a funeral service Friday morning at 11:00 in Trinity Episcopal Church, Branford. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Branford. There are no calling hours.
