This was a fine man with whom I had the pleasure of visiting many Saturday nights at the St. Paul School cafeteria. Johnny Compton was a steady, sober influence; a man who embraced that gift with humility, honor and the unflagging desire to give it away on a moment's notice. He will always be part of my story and memory--he even cut down trees for my dad out in Center Township. Rest in peace old friend
