John Dolan Connolly

I've looked up to John my entire life, and rightly so.
There's a line in Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea: "I must be worthy of the great DiMaggio who does all things perfectly." That's pretty much how I felt about my brother John.

It was always a gift to run into John and Bitsy at sunset. John was a quiet, intelligent, kind, thoughtful man. He is missed.

Many fond memories of Jayo over my entire life.

John was the epitome of a gentleman, as well as a devoted husband and wonderful father. He will be missed.

John was my roommate freshman year (Sept '61) at Holy Cross. Top floor in O'Kane. John was the Forrest Hills sophisticate -- I was the naive kid from Omaha. He sheparded me through freshman year. Introduced me to
New York and East Coast geography . He would put me under his wing, smile and guide my education.

John was always pleasant. He was interested in things going on, And was usually interesting to talk to.

John was a good man, who did everything gracefully and well. But perhaps what he was best at was making those around him feel good about themselves. He will be missed – for who he was, and for what he did.
