"Skinhead" John Cook was a World War II hero who saved the USS Flasher submarine crew on an uncontrolled dive by reversing the motors without orders. He will be sorely missed by the USS Flasher families.

Our deepest sympathies to Mayor Cook and all the family. We met Mr. Cook Sr. while campaigning with him for the Mayor. He was a delightful person and we know that you all will miss him dreadfully. It was a joy to have been able to meet him and his lovely wife.
