Not sure what to say?

One of John's former UNO professors forwarded his obituary to me. John took such good care of his health, especially with aerobics and physical training, that his early passing is even more sad and surprising.
We dated during my time at UNO, and he always had some fun adventure to share, often with his wonderful family. He loved being on the water, and I will always cherish times I spent sailing, fishing and sharing holiday meals with him, his Mom & Dad, daughter Melissa (Nicki),...

Dear friends--our hearts break with yours--it was far too soon for us...but we have this little theory (no, we stand corrected, John, it's a "working hypothesis"!)...Some folks just seem to be able to cram a whole lot of life in a shorter-than-average lifetime. We'll miss him too--but remembering with a smile...we've seen him at a bookstore chatting with what probably was a total stranger--but a new friend to him at that moment. John, we're glad to have called you friend too! You showed us...

Sharing and service defined John Cosgrove's life. He could share a meal, a profound idea, or even a bad joke -- often at his own expense. As a professional he wanted to find and share knowledge in the New Orleans community. His loss is too early but he made the lives of his friends richer.
