Not sure what to say?

My sincere sympathies to the Cota family. I feel fortunate to have spent time with John the last time I visited home in 2006. Augie, your dad couldn't say enough or be more proud of you. God Bless You John, I'll miss you buddy. Love, Mark and family.

J.C.- You will alway be in our memories. God Bless the Cota Family.

The Höeger Family

My deepest sympathies and prayers for the Cota family. John was the epitome of a Saintsman and carried a beam of light and energy that few people can match. Life shows us constantly how short and precious it is. John seemed to revel in each moment and friendship. I regret that I missed spending more time with him.

A Saints brother has taken the next step. God Bless, John "Mick" Cota don't rest in peace, rock in peace! - Someone referred to The Spirit of 76 - We weren't big in number but we were huge in spirit. God Bless all the Saintsmen and especially those boys from '76.

I will never be able to listen to the Stones without thinking of JC. He had it down. I am proud that he called me his drummer. I'll miss the big hug he gave me each time I saw him. I know that he is up there singing with some of the old rockers who got there ahead of him.

Rock on JC, Rock ON.

My deepest sympathies to family of J.C. - He was a great friend and I will miss him very much.

Prayers from me and my wife Karen to the whole Cota family. John was the spirit of 76, wether on stage at a dance singing some Jagger, blazing through the Turkey trot race, or popping that outside jumper. In the 30 some years since we left Saints, John kept that special time alive. We never thought we would have to say good bye so soon. All of us who knew John were blessed to share his energy, his humor, and his love of Saint Augustine High School. Thank you, John. You will always shine in...

My sincere sympathies to John's family. I remember well John's enthusiasm in all he did at Saints.

To The Cota family...my deepest condolences I only today heard of John's passing & was shocked. Not being a school mate of John's, (Point Loma 75) I would just run into him while celebrating life: house parties, Old Town, Charger games, the Festa,(we used to joke about being the token Mexicans) I'll miss his "Mick Jagger" he definitely was the life of the party & very proud indeed of his "little Man" Augie. Rest in peace Bro...~JMF.
