Buffalo is looking grand, John, and at Colleen’s wedding this past September we were very proud to welcome so many out-of-towners to the city you love. You were definitely with us all. The warmth of your smile and your love and strength are always with us.

Fifteen years ago you joined family in heaven and we know that you have been smiling down on all of your family and friends since then asking God to keep us in the palm of His hand. We know you would...

Thinking of you and missing you as always, John. The world has been a crazy place for the past year and a half, but we know you're smiling down on your wonderful family and you're not surprised at how very well they are handling everything. That's because they have your hopeful and indomitable spirit. Dum Spiro Spero.

As always, John, you are in our hearts and in our thoughts and we miss you beyond words each and every day. As we plan for another Cotter family reunion, we are sorely missing you and your terrific leadership, your wit, your wonderful way with words, and your tremendous knowledge of everything Buffalo. You gave a tour of the Old First Ward that so captivated all of your Cotter cousins they still talk about it today while keeping you close in their hearts as...

Thinking of you especially today, John. And thinking how blessed we all are to have had such a wonderful brother and uncle like you in our livesyou are always in our hearts and we miss you tons each and every day.
All Our Love,
Eileen, Dan, Bridget and Colleen

As always we are thinking of you and missing you, John, especially today your 64th birthday. Your wisdom, humor and thoughtful words have been sorely missed around the dining room table as we have discussed all of the political happenings this past year. Your wonderful kids are all so smart and so well-spoken. They have terrific insight into all that has been happening in the world and we love to listen to their viewpoints. The light from your smiling Irish eyes can be seen in their eyes...

We miss you each and every day, John, especially today -- your birthday. Thinking of you and of all the hearts you have touched with your love, kindness, humor and warm smiles. Going to play a few songs now from Cotter's Tunes in your honor today.
All Our Love,

Everyone is thinking of you and missing you, John, especially today your 62nd birthday. Cousin Tim sent us the wonderful book, The Boys in the Boat, and we're all thinking of you as we read itand it's no wonderthe book mentions that Every good rowing coach, in his own way, imparts to his men the kind of self-discipline required to achieve the ultimate from mind, heart, and body. Which is why ex-oarsmen will tell you they learned more fundamentally important lessons in the racing shell than...

Dear John,
We are missing you as always and thinking of you – especially today, your 61st birthday. We took your Godmother to a doctor's appointment today and instead of the usual stack of magazines on the table next to us, there was only one book – “Chicken Soup for the Golfer's Soul!” We knew it was a message from you on your birthday, John, to start thinking green (especially after this long winter) and for everybody to hang in there.
All Our Love,

We know you are smiling down on your wonderful family, John, and couldn't be more proud of them. We miss you each and every day, but your warm smile stays with us always.
All Our Love,
