I worked for American Airlines across the street from Jack's home for many years before our office closed in 2001. Jack & Phyllis became two of my favorite people -- they stopped in our office a lot for travel help but also just for a visit. We all enjoyed them so much. Jack has been frequently on our minds while on our long road trip. That will be especially true tomorrow---the day of his memorial service---as we go from Indiana to West Virginia. We will miss his warm smile and greeting each Sunday---and his deep commitment to peace and justice.

Jack was one of my favorite people to meet for lunch. I really enjoyed learning from him during our conversations about Clackamas County, planning, and family. I miss him.
