Not sure what to say?

I feel lucky to have known John and to count him as a friend. He was a very sweet and very generous man. We met in person only a few times over the years, but I'll always have great memories of those times and of our long talks on the phone. I will miss you very much, my friend.

John has been a thoughtful, encouraging, generous, dear, dear friend and I miss him very, very much. I'd known john for 10 years having met at Sterling's memorial service. Sterl had spoken of John so often over the years that I felt as if I already knew him -we hit it off immediately and I consider myself very fortunate to have become his friend.
John, you will always be in my prayers and happy thoughts. Moe

I remember with fondness John's passion for music and musicians. It was a funky night having dinner next door at John and Mary's with the musician Jonathon Richmond and later hearing Jonathon play at the Casbah. As neighbors, I used to go with John to the Hillcrest Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings and help John get everything on the list Mary had sent with him. The Craig's menus were always much better than mine! I spent many enjoyable evenings partaking in the fabulous cooking of both John...

Mary:

Thank you very much for sending the information regarding John's passing. He was a great friend of both Arlene and I. We spent many hours on the golf course with John over the years and not only enjoyed the golf, which he was very good at, but also the conversations about some of the widest ranging subjects. He seemed to have an interest in most any subject you could think of and he was fun to be with. His love of your dog and cats also spoke well of his basic good...

Dear Mary: It was with sadness that I read about the passing of John. As next door neighbors in Kensington for about 10 years John became a friend & that friendship extended long after I moved to Alpine. Kathie & I remember fondly the dinners out we had, and invites to view championship fights at your house!
I remember John's love of golf, fine cars, and interesting restaurants. We also appreciated the times you were able to come to our Christmas open house at our new home in Alpine--...
