John B. Crowley, 92, passed away April 3, 2015 in the care of Hospice of Jefferson County. He was a resident of Samaritan Summit Village Assisted Living since May 5, 2013.

He was born August 19, 1922 at Norwegian Hospital, 45th Street and 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York to John B. Sr. and Mary Cecial Crowley. He was baptized in OLPH Roman Catholic Church, 59th Street and 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated High School from St. Francis Preparatory School, Butler Street, Brooklyn, New York.

He served his country during World War II in the US Army 12th Armored Division in Central Europe and Germany. He was Honorably Discharged. He was a New York City Police Officer from October 1951 to October 1971. He earned the BA, MS degrees and the Professional Certificate in School Psychology at Queens College of the City University of New York. After his retirement from the Police Department he was employed as a School Psychologist with Elmont UFSD, Elmont, NY from September 1971 to June 1991. He retired and moved to Watertown, NY.

He was married to Margaret Croghan. The marriage ended in divorce.

He is survived by his daughter Kathleen Crowley and son-in-law William Kerekes, Hempstead, Long Island. His son Kevin and daughter-in-law Susan Crowley, Weston, CT. His son Michael and daughter-in-law JoAnne Crowley, Black River, NY. He has five grandchildren Kieran, Brian, Colleen, Melissa and Michael.

There are no calling hours. Burial with Military Honors will be at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St, Watertown, NY 13601.

Dear Crowley Family, While I am sorry for your loss, I smile at fun memories of your Dad. He was a "bigger than life" personality. His long, full life from so many varied experiences is an energetic role model for living. His contributions are evident in his family.
