Not sure what to say?

John and I were fellow Eagle Scouts along with Dennis Stanard and we were both All-State Band members with the Tuscaloosa High School band. He was a good friend and I have many fond memories of our times together. He was an outstanding individual in so many ways. I didn't know he had passed away until recently, so I want to offer my condolences to his family. God bless you John.

Our Uncle John, my mother's only brother was a loving, caring soul who will be missed by all who knew him. His friends meant the world to him and we are grateful for all the people surrounding him and part of his life. He touched so many people in his life, Rest In Peace!

Sherrie (James) McNaughton

I knew John as a Scout Leader at Forest Lake Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa. As you might expect, he was an excellent scout youth leader, an Eagle Scout, and a friend to so many. Sadly, I didn't know John later in life, and I am not suprised with his many axcomplishments.

His faithful companion--his Springer Spaniel, Taylor (1994--2010)

In addition to the other tributes to John, one would be remiss to not mention his acumen in the kitchen. To be invited to a meal at John's house was tantamount to going to a 5 Star restaurant. He had epicurean tastes and a true culinary gift.

Sincere condolences to the family, May your hearts be comforted forever as you cope with the loss of your dear loved one. - Philip 4:6&7g

I met Father Cruse many years ago and was immediately impressed by his intellect, his faith, his mastery of homiletics, and his warmth and conviviality. He was a masterful orator, a brilliant academic, and a wonderful human being. Sadly, we lost touch years ago, but I have never forgotten how fortunate and blessed I am to have known such an extraordinary man. Rest in peace, Father Cruse.

My cousin John was a delight. Fun, smart, caring and every other desireable trait you would hope for. I will miss him greatly as will all the members of his extended family.

I knew John as the Rector at St. Alban's in Bluff Park. One of the most interesting clerics I have ever known. A remarkable mind and an absolute expert in history.

Rest in peace John.

John was a great friend at the seminary in Sewanee, and for many years thereafter. Just a wonderful and very smart friend. We called each other BFF's. Rest in Peace, john, my BFF.
