I knew John all my life. He was two years ahead of me at Saint Marks and Saint Thomas Academy. My family was one of the many benefactors of his intense but gentle talents as a surgeon. John performed two emergency appendectomies on two of our children. He had the best bedside manor ever. Sheila and family, Dr. John Culligan took such good care of my grandmother, Viola Gehlen, and comforted her husband, Dr. Joe Gehlen, during her surgery. He and Dr. David were very compassionate doctors.

My deepest condolences to the entire Culligan family, may your faith carry you through this difficult time.

Dear Culligan family,
we were saddened to hear of Dr. Culigan's passing. He was a great man and surgeon. He added 25 + years to our dad's life.
I worked at St. Joe's in Communications where Dr. 'C' would stop in just to say hello. He was always so humble and kind; always patient and caring about everyone and NEVER had a cross word for anyone. We are remembering him and you in our prayers. Thank you for sharing him with us.
