Spinelli - Ricciuti Funeral Home - Ansonia Obituary

WATERBURY: John P. “Dags” D’Agostino Jr., age 64, passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2021.

John was born in Yonkers, NY, on October 27, 1956, first of three sons to the late John and Jean D’Onofrio D’Agostino Sr. John spent his childhood living in Oxford, until moving to Ansonia then later Seymour where he lived with his former wife Janice Baker D’Agostino and their three sons. John was a graduate of Ansonia High School in 1974 and went on to attend Central Connecticut State University. John had many loyal friends and was well known throughout the Valley for being fun, never being afraid to speak his mind, having a big heart and always being there for anyone who needed him.  He was an avid sports fan, specifically the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. His childhood idol was Mickey Mantle. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, play sports for their respective teams. You could always find John running up and down the field with his video camera trying to get the best shots.

John is survived by his three sons, John, Marc and Nick D'Agostino, their mother, Janice Baker D'Agostino, brothers, Peter D'Agostino and Pat D'Agostino (Stacey), grandchildren, Isabella, John, Blakely and Benson D'Agostino, niece, Gabriella, along with several cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/ BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Not sure what to say?

I am glad we reconnected, even if it was for a short time. We had lots of fun together growing up and those are some very happy memories! Love you cuz!

Condolences to the D'Agostino family ... I recently and sadly, learned of John's passing ... I had just connected to John via Facebook, after not seeing him for many years. His passion for family and sports were still there ... It is a difficult time but I know you will continue his legacy with wonderful memories. Once again, condolences to the entire D'Agostino family, prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am John's cousin from California. I remember him when we visited in 1977-1978. His parents Uncle John and Aunt Jean were my Godparents. I just heard of his passing. I hoped someday we would've all come together again. His picture is beautiful, I can see my Uncle and my father in him. My mother, John's Aunt Tomasita just passed on Sept. 8th. May God Bless and bring much peace and comfort to all his family and friends!!!

I have so many amazing memories of my Uncle Johnny Boy- I am remembering them with a very full heart. Love you all ❤

We are so sorry for your loss. John will be missed by all. Remember all the good times, they will help ease the pain

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I’m so sorry for your loss. May John Rest In Peace.

I have very fond memories of John. Him and his family welcomed my family and I into his home on several occasions and enjoyed every minute of them. RIP my friend

May God comfort all family and friends during this time of loss.
