Age 68, of Minnetonka, passed away July 12, 2015. John was born on August 2, 1946 to H. Bruce & Esther (Bruckner) Dando. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Penny; sons, Aaron (Debbie), Sam (Kate), and Austin (Jessie); grandchildren, Noella, Tanner, Lievie, Annika, and Dane; dog, Rainy; sister, Penny Claybourne (Phil). John graduated from St. Paul Central in 1964. He worked as a Camp St. Croix counselor leading remote canoe trips up north. He started his career in Corrections at Hennepin Co. Home School, St. Cloud Reformatory, and Federal Bureau of Prisons. John helped to develop the non-profit organization Newgate Education Center. He then worked as a car wholesaler for many years before ending his career as the Service/Fleet Manager for Uhl Company. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16 at Plymouth Presbyterian Church, 3755 Dunkirk Ln N, Plymouth followed by light lunch and interment 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, 803 Larpenteur Ave. W., Roseville, MN. Visitation Wednesday (TODAY, July 15) 5-7 p.m., at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. N. @Vicksburg Ln. Please feel free to drive a classic car to the funeral service and join us in procession to the burial. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Menge, Joan, & The Frauenshuh Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Plymouth Presbyterian Church or Frauenshuh Cancer Center, 3932 Louisiana Ave. S., St. Louis Park, MN 55426. Gearty-Delmore 763-553-1411
