Not sure what to say?

Jack was my cousin, and although I only spent time with him on a few occasions, I remember him well and am so happy to see where his life led and how he impacted so many lives. I´m sure he is missed by many...

"Sir" Jack Darcey hired me as a Spanish teacher in West Hartford. He was highly regarded as our upbeat, positive and supportive supervisor and colleague. It was a pleasure to know and work with Jack. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Jack was a wonderful and warm person who I always enjoyed talking with. I will remember him always.

Whether as a lively and engaging teacher of Spanish and Russian, or as the focused yet playful faculty adviser to a proud student government, John Darcey was a major influence on me and many other Conard High School students during the late 1960s. He extended himself to help me in my personal development as well, which touched me then and only deepens the sadness I feel now at learning of his death. Serious, intelligent, caring, accomplished, John Darcey was all these things. He also was a...

I'll always remember the good times Jack and I shared when we attended Northeast Conference Board meetings in New York. We looked forward to dinner and the theater. On an interesting note, Jack was prone to playing tricks on friends and I was forever waiting for that "shoe to drop" in my direction. It never did! I want to thank his West Hartford and environs' friends for the care they took of him.

I studied both Spanish and Russian (2 years of each) under Jack's tutelage and enjoyed every bit of it. In 1966(?) he chaperoned a group of Conard students on a 6-week long study trip to University of Madrid through the Foreign Language League. I've never forgotten that trip. His generosity, gentleness, caring for his students, spirit of fun, and inspiration as a teacher will, likewise, never be forgotten. Rest well, Sir John Darcey.

He was an excellent Spanish teacher. I was his student at Conrad, class of 1968.
