John Philip Darling

When our big sister Connie married John Darling, our family gained one of the most kind, calm and unassuming members ever! As I got to know him over the next almost 60 years, it was clear that his intelligence, loyalty to family, and gentle sense of humor helped each of us through both the good times and the bad. His advice was spot on even when I didn´t take it (he suggested I stopped using my "nickname" Julie and go by Julia when I left for college - now I wish I had!) John will be missed...

My deepest sympathy to John's loved ones. I knew John during his volunteer years, when I worked at Monona Terrace. He was indeed one of the kindest, most gentle men I have ever known, and never failed to brighten my day. I will always remember him fondly.

My sincere caring to all at this difficult time. The obituary and pictures truly spoke of the wonderful person John was.
